About Us

We’re the second generation Yellowhammers playing lacrosse, based out of Birmingham Alabama. Much like our predecessor's, we strive to be competitive in the southeast and beyond. Our community mission is to have the coaches, players, and families working towards the development of our players and the program. We are represented by the best players from Birmingham’s suburbs.

Hunter McGeeney

Head coach, Hunter McGeeney, comes from a very rich and storied lacrosse family. His father is in the lacrosse hall of fame, it’s safe to say lacrosse is in his blood. Hunter has amassed 15+ years of indoor and outdoor lacrosse experience in the US & Canada.

Steven Collins

Steven Collins is a former defensemen at the University of Montevallo. During his career he was able to win 2 Conference Championships and All-Conference accolades(93 GB, 49 CT, 10 career points). Transitioning from player to coach, Steven has started guiding players to excellence through his tenure with Birmingham Lacrosse United(BLU) and now as the Head Coach of Vestavia's 14U team. With a passion for nurturing young talent, Steven is eager to kick off his journey with the 2032 Yellowhammer program.
